The Gratitude Journal for Women – book review

The Gratitude Journal for Women

It’s no wonder that The Gratitude Journal for Women is the #1 book on Amazon in the Quick Workouts category.  The subtitle says it all, “Find happiness and peace in 5 minutes a day“.

Most women are so busy raising the kids, keeping the house in order, food on the table, and even working outside of the home, that they don’t have much more than 5 minutes to themselves.  But the new year is upon us and it’s the best time to get into a new habit (or 2 or 3!).  So taking 5 minutes for yourself to work on gratitude is a really good thing.

Most people tend to forget just how good their life is.  While you might not be getting paid enough, have a decent vehicle, are in the midst of a divorce, or “insert your crisis here“, your life is darn good.  You have a roof over your head, clothes on your body, food in your belly, and you have access to the internet assuming you’re reading this post.  It’s a lot better than a huge majority of the world.

What helps me to remember how good I have it is to write down the positive things that are in my life.  That’s where The Gratitude Journal for Women comes in.  It’s designed with beautiful watercolors and thought-provoking quotes.  And on the pages are questions for you to ponder and answer right there in the book.  This allows you to come back and remind yourself what you have to be thankful for in your life.

Journaling has become very popular for many reasons – prayer journals to keep track of answered prayers, keeping track of dreams, to capture ideas, to gain clarity, to keep track of your life’s journey, and on and on.  A gratitude journal is an easy way to start working on self-improvement, having a more positive attitude, and as an act of appreciation.  Frankly, while this journal is for women, journaling is great for people of all genders, ages, and backgrounds.

I highly recommend The Gratitude Journal for Women as a way to improve your attitude, to defeat negative self-talk, and to grow as a woman.  You can find 5 minutes a day for yourself and, when you do, those around you will see the improvements.  Start the new year working on a new and improved you!
