Poise: graceful + elegant bearing
I love being able to sing at church. Not only am I blessed to have that gift, but it blesses me when I can sing praise to my Lord. I sing with the choir every Sunday, but once or twice a year, I’ve been able to sing during the offering. In all the years that I’ve been singing, I still really have never gotten over the stage fright that comes with performing. I definitely don’t feel like I have much poise.
You’d think that with singing up on the stage with my fellow choir members would help me to overcome some of that fear, but knowing that my friends are over to the side singing while I’m front in center doesn’t make it any easier. My knees don’t knock when I’m singing a duet, but solo, and the nerves don’t quit.
Generally, when I sing, I tend to sing slower songs, not the more upbeat songs that we sing during the praise and worship time during the service. Some of those songs are really upbeat and include some dancing and jumping at time. One of the things that I had to learn how to do was look like I was jumping without actually jumping because of LBL or light bladder leakage.
LBL and Poise
For me, it seems that I got that “gift” after giving birth to my son. But age and surgical menopause due to a hysterectomy didn’t help it either. The Mayo Clinic even says that we can get temporary bladder leakage due to things like:
- Decaffeinated tea and coffee
- Carbonated drinks
- Artificial sweeteners
- Corn syrup
- Foods that are high in spice, sugar or acid, especially citrus fruits
- Heart and blood pressure medications, sedatives, and muscle relaxants
- Large doses of vitamins B or C
Great right? I mean, what DOESN’T actually cause LBL?
And while women get the lion’s share of attention when it comes to LBL, men aren’t immune from its grips either. With conditions like prostate cancer and an enlarged prostate, they could suffer with the LBL, too.
I don’t have to deal with light bladder leakage alone anymore. Thanks to Poise, I can choose the LBL protection that works for me. Poise Incontinence Pads provide extra absorbency to give you the confidence and protection you need for your LBL and Poise Very Light Absorbency Liners stay three times drier than leading period-only liners. Both Poise pads and liners have an absorb-loc® core that quickly locks away wetness and odor to help keep you fresh and dry.
And check out just how super-thin Poise Very Light Absorbency Liners are! This makes carrying one in your bag, purse, or pocket is easy and discrete. Whether woman or man, there’s no scent that would give your little secret away.
