Great Eye Glasses

I don’t know about you, but there are few things I dislike shopping for more than eye glasses.  I have insurance and it still costs me an arm and a leg.  How, after all my deductions, I still owe upward to $500, is beyond me.  It doesn’t matter if I go to an upscale eye doctor’s boutique or a chain store, I’m out lots of money so I can read.  So when I got an opportunity to work with, I jumped at the chance.

The first thing you’ll notice when you reach their page is that you can sign up for 10% off your purchase.  I highly recommend that you take that offer.  You don’t get lots of annoying emails from Great Eye Glasses.  Then, you should make an account.

Frames start at $5.99!  That’s a lot less than you’ll spend at one of the chain stores.  They have their eye glasses categorized for women, kids, men, and safety.

Once you choose your category, then you can either scroll through the pictures, choosing those that appeal to you, or you can narrow your choices by material, frame shape, frame style, lens type, frame size, and color.  There is a lot to offer an eye glasses wearer.  Heck, there are even 14 pairs of safety glasses. has a great “Try On” feature.  You can either use one of their faces to see what the glasses will look like on your face shape or you can upload your own picture and try on the glasses on your own face.

Once you narrow you choices down the the pair (or pairs) of glasses that you want to purchase, be sure to have your prescription with you.  I had my prescription from my last eye exam, where I purchased glasses in the same location.  You’ll need this information when ordering your eye glasses.

Do you have a single vision, bifocal, or progressive prescription?  No problem.  I use computer progressive lenses and many of the mail order eye glass places either don’t make them or charge a lot of money for them.  Not Great Eye Glasses!

Add your prescription into the order form online.  It’s simple.  Choose whether or not you want tinted lenses, lense type, and coatings.  As you add on your selections, the price will increase, but you will still pay less than what you would elsewhere.

I chose the Super Thin & Light Progressive lenses with the Tuff Coat with Super Premium Anti-Reflection Coating.  The prescription was perfect.  I can see with my new glasses without a hitch.  However, I did find that the anti-reflective coating wasn’t quite as anti-reflective as I’ve had in the past.  I have super-sensitive eyes and can see my own eyelashes in my eye glass reflection.  Crazy, I know.

The arms of the glasses are wide, which makes it difficult to keep them on my face securely when I move around.  I can probably bring them to a chain store to have them adjusted.  I just haven’t tried that yet.

I need my glasses to read, so I’m looking forward to having a pair of glasses on my nightstand, so that I can read my phone when I get up in the morning.  No more fuzzy words.  I’ll be able to see clearly with my new glasses.

All-in-all, I’m really happy with the simple, affordable, and fashionable offerings at and I look forward to being able to use them again when the time comes for me to get a new pair (or two) of glasses.
