Desserts Delivered to Your Doorstep

Doorstep Desserts

Desserts Delivered to Your Doorstep

What if you could have desserts delivered to your door every week?  Something that was practically put together for you.  No baking or cooking involved.  Something so easy that you could prepare with your child.  Doorstep Desserts makes having dessert fun again.

How does it work?  You get to choose a weekly, biweekly, or monthly program.  You get one kit per plan.  I got to experience the weekly plan with one kit per week.  Each week I got to pick one of two featured desserts.

The first week my choices were Chocolate Strawberry Cake or Chocolate Overload Cake Truffles.  I chose the truffles.  The next week, the pretty pink box was delivered to my door with everything I needed as well as a detailed instruction card with pictures to help me make the treats.

Everything was pre-proportioned to make the right amount for my family of 3, but it would be great for 4 or 2 as well.  I used a fork to crumble up the moist chocolate cake and then added the chocolate buttercream frosting.  After rolling the mixture into bite-sized balls, I rolled them in chocolate krunchies and let them set up in the fridge for about 20 minutes.

The recipe made 10 truffles, but since there are only 3 of use, I made 9.  They were a hit!  Besides, how could anything chocolate be a bad thing?

Week 2 my choices were Red Velvet Cake Truffles or Chocolate Covered Cake Heart Pops.  Chocolate won again.  This was was a little more challenging.  Melting the chocolate was no big deal and I got to lick the bowl I melted the chocolate pieces in.  Bonus!

I was challenged when I had to make my cake truffle mixture into hearts.  They definitely weren’t perfect.  After I formed the hearts, I dipped the included wood skewer tips into the melted chocolate and inserted them into the hearts.  I popped them in the freezer to set up.  Then I drizzled the chocolate on the hearts and (don’t do this!) put them in the fridge while we ate dinner.

The chocolate stuck to the plate, stuck to each other, and just plain stuck.  I didn’t get pictures.  It was such a mess of my making that I forget to get photos.  The lesson here – follow the directions.  They are put together so that you have a lovely dessert.

Week 3 choices were Death by Chocolate Cake or Eclair Cake.  Can you guess which one I ordered?  If you said Death by Chocolate Cake, you’d be right.

I had to slice each of the 2 cakes in half, add chocolate buttercream frosting between the two halves, and top each cake with chocolate creme pie filling and chocolate crumbles.

Each of the cakes that we had was moist and tasty.  The chocolate cake was never dry.  The frostings were all creamy and flavorful.  The crumbles were sometimes rather hard.

Week 4, I got to choose between Vanilla Truffles and Chocolate Strawberry Cake, and I didn’t pick the chocolate cake.  I figured I should break out of the chocolate rut I’d been in and try something different.

This week, I tried something to make the Vanilla Creme Cake Truffles mine.  I added 2 drops of Young Living Lemon Essential Oil.  The essential oil added just a slight lemon flavor that my family really enjoyed.

I can’t begin to tell you what a great experience I had with Abby and Doorstep Desserts.  The treats were easy to prepare, delicious, and didn’t require me to shop or bake.  You could add your own flare, like I did on week 4.  Each kit was perfect to do with a young child to give them a dessert-making experience.

This week’s choices are Red Velvet Cake or Carrot Cake Truffles.  No chocolate in sight!  The best part of Doorstep Desserts, besides the obvious dessert part, is that each kit is only $15!  Abby (the brilliant mind behind the desserts) gathers all the ingredients, does all the baking  – and the dishes – portions, packages, mails, and boom…you just get really tasty dessert delivered right to your doorstep.  This makes Doorstep Desserts the perfect dessert experience.

You can use code SANDY to get 75% off your first Doorstep Desserts order.  Hurry!  It this offer won’t be good for much longer.
