I was listening to Andy Stanley preach in his father’s stead this morning and he brought up this verse. It reminded me of not only how we need to treat one another, but how we should treat our spouses. I speak to you as the biggest violator of this verse.
I want to be recognized for the things that I do. I want to do what I want to do. I don’t want to step aside and wait my turn. Perhaps I need to have this sign above my mirror so that when I look in the mirror at myself, I’m reminded that there is a man in my life that deserves to be first.
Happy Valentine’s Day, Scott! I love you with all of my heart.
Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. – 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
