Our 14-year old son, Timothy, finished middle school today. We are attending a graduation party at church tonight for the 8th through 12th graders. He will formally graduate on Sunday morning at 8 AM at the church that his school is affiliated with.
He’s such a beautiful boy; a beautiful person on the inside and out. At 6 feet, 2 inches, people think that he’s older than he is. He’s going to be working with my Dad this summer at our church’s food pantry. He’s started interviewing people as they come in to ask for assistance. He’s kind and compassionate. He’ll be going on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic in August to bring the Word of God to the Dominicans. It was his choice to go. And, while I support him 100%, I was hesitant to let him go. He’s still such a sheltered child, but I went to Haiti, when Jean-Claude “Baby Doc” Duvalier and his Tontons Macoutes, were still in power, at his age and it’s only fair that he have a similar, safer experience.
So, this is a post in his honor. And honorable he is. His Father and I are so blessed with a child who loves God, who’s accepted Jesus in his heart, and who, with that heart, loves others.
